Mulled Wine (Glögg)
Mulled wine, or Glögg, is a warm spiced wine traditionally enjoyed during winter festivities. Its aromatic blend of spices creates a comforting and inviting drink perfect for cold days.






Ingredients
750 ml of Red Wine
100 g of Sugar
2 of Cinnamon Sticks
5 of Whole Cloves
2 of Star Anise
1 Orange of Orange Zest
50 g of Almonds (sliced or slivered)
100 ml of Optional: Brandy or Cognac
Instructions
1. In a large saucepan, combine the red wine, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and orange zest.
2. Heat gently over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm, but do not let it boil.
3. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
4. Remove from heat and stir in the optional brandy or cognac if desired.
5. Strain the mulled wine into heatproof mugs or glasses, removing the spices and zest.
6. Garnish with sliced almonds and serve warm.
